Miracle on 3rd Street

Each December, the community gathers in Uptown Ankeny to experience "Miracle on 3rd Street," where people of all ages find joy in the Christmas season. This festive event includes a Winter Wonderlights display, visits with Santa and his reindeer, shopping of Uptown businesses, Uptown Express rides, and hot cocoa stops. This year, Ankeny First is hosting an exciting stop on the "Miracle" map.... a living nativity! 

On December 12 (5-7:30 pm) we have an extraordinary opportunity to represent to the community the most wonderful miracle of all time, Jesus!  Not only will our living nativity include sheep, donkeys, and goats, but a cast of characters straight from the Bible who will bring this story to life. 

We are looking for people of all ages to portray Baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, shepherds, wisemen, and more. The cast will bundle up in biblical attire and take turns playing a big part as they tell the miraculous story of Jesus on the streets of Uptown. From various locations along 3rd Street, they will guide families on a journey to the stable in our church parking lot where they will experience the wonder of that night in Bethlehem. Families are invited into the Fellowship Hall for some hot cocoa and activities.
