GriefShare helps grieving persons and applies Biblical principles to the healing process after the death of a loved one. GriefShare is designed to extend ministry into the long months that follow when people around the griever have returned to their normal, busy lives.
This is a 13-week session in the Uptown Conference Room. The $15 fee covers the cost of the course workbook.

Little Ninjas Tae Kwon Do

Our Sports Cluster partners with the Academy of Martial Arts Inc. to teach martial arts to children, ages 4-6 years. In Little Ninjas, our goal is to help your preschooler be the best they can be at everything they put their minds to, by improving basic motor and listening skills. Instructors are good role models who are trained to work with preschool-aged children. Your child will be engaged in a fun way, learning to listen to instructors and work cooperatively with their fellow ninjas. Classes will include of an intentional time for devotion and prayer. No uniforms are required with this program. Classes are held at the Christian Life Center-710 NE 36th St.
Rattle & Rhyme Music Class

It’s never too early to get babies started in music class! We are excited to tell you about a brand new program at Ankeny First for infants and toddlers. “RATTLE & RHYME” is a program designed to encourage parents and children ages 0-2 to sing, dance, and play instruments together. Instructor Jessica Schreier will introduce a lot of fun musical activities in class which can also be used at home to nurture a strong bond between you and your little one. It’s also a great opportunity to get to know other parents in the community! Cost is $15 for this seven-week session which meets Wednesdays September 12-October 24, 10:00 – 10:30 in CLC Room 102.

Come enjoy an evening of golf with your friends at Otter Creek Golf Course-4100 NE Otter Creek Dr.. You may register as an individual or as a team of 4. Those registered individually will be placed on a team. Cost is $45.00 and includes 9 holes of golf with a cart. Also included for those interested is a night of hitting & chipping lessons on Thursday, September 6 at 6:00 pm. No need to register separately just show up on the 6th if interested. Refreshments will be available for purchase in the Tip Cup after the outing on September 16.
The Retreat Experience

The Ankeny Mental Health Ministry is excited to share an adult retreat opportunity with you! It will be held at Faith Chapel on Saturday, September 22 from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Cost: $15.00 includes supplies, continental breakfast and noon meal.
Open to men, women, and older youth. Ms. Sam Erwin will lead us through a day set aside to focus on our individual connection with our Lord. This will be done through times of meditation, prayer, creative movement, silence and writing. The prayer labyrinth at Faith Chapel will be included in our activities. Miles for Miracles 5K

Our Miles for Miracles Fun Run/Walk is designed for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, from serious runners to whole families. It features a relatively flat course, starting and finishing at the Christian Life Center. Whether this is your first 5K or your 100th, you'll fit right in at this race! Proceeds from our race benefit On With Life - Brain Injury Rehabilitation Specialist.
